It's Guitar Playing Time!

Have you ever wanted to pick up guitar and play for your family and friends to sing along? Want to learn the skills to be able to play your favorite song?

My name is Natalie Jensen and I have been playing guitar for 20+ years.

The method of guitar I teach is all about FUN!! Learn how to play beginner guitar using the method “Fun Guitar for Everyone”, developed by Elaine Stratford, author and composer of many great guitar song books!

Natalie’s Group Guitar lessons are for beginners, children or adults. Children must be 8 yrs old to begin, due to the need to read, understand and follow the music.

The fee is $55/month, which includes 4 (weekly) 50 minute lessons and the music and practice CD for each level. Private lessons would be $75/month and would be scheduled at times not listed below. Classes start January 4, 2011.

Classes Available are:
*Tuesdays – 4-4:50pm (ages 8-12) , 5-5:50pm (ages 13-99)
*Saturdays – 10-10:50am (ages 8-12), 11-11:50 (ages 13-99)

*I put the classes together this way because children tend to learn better in a class of their peers, rather than mixed with adults.

Times and classes are subject to change as needed, due to advancement or class size.

Classes will be held at my home in Herriman, UT.

Students will need to have some of their own supplies:
-GUITAR – Please get a guitar that suits the size of the person using it. For example, a younger child would have a hard time using a full size guitar. The guitar needs to sit comfortably on their lap, with their arm comfortably resting round the front and fingers able to reach all strings, both hands.
-CAPO – There are several different types of capos available, but some are quite bulky. The less bulky, the better! I prefer the key clamp kind, which you can put on and take off with one hand.
-THUMB PICK – This is optional, but highly recommended. We use a Plastic Thumb Pick that wraps around the thumb, NOT A FLAT PICK. Make sure it fits comfortably , but is tight enough to sit over the thumb nail and not slip.
-STRAP - (optional, but necessary if you want to stand up). Lessons will be taught sitting, so this really is just a personal choice.
-NOTEBOOK – Please use a three-ring binder to make your own guitar music book. Each time you move to a new level, you will get a new packet of music. We go through these packets in lessons and then you need them to practice at home. I would highly recommend having each page in a sheet protector, so that they don’t accidentally rip while turning.

Missed lessons are not refunded. However, if you know you cannot be there for a lesson, arrangements for a makeup lesson can be made.

Please call/email me with questions and to sign up. First month's fees are due at sign-up. Fees for each following month will be due on the first class of each month.
